Training #10
I fell twice today, yet the assistant coach thinks I skated well. I don’t understand coaches. They speak in riddles.
I fell in the corners again. At the same spot. That nasty spot has not haunted me for a while but it is back, although they were good falls…falls that occurred because I could barely hold myself up anymore. And, dear self, that is what you get when you’re too busy with schoolwork to eat and condition. I lost 2kg this week because I was just too busy to eat, and I had worked almost 10 weeks to get those 2kg on.
Apparently my starts are really good. Like I said in my previous post, that is the only thing I seem to be good at. 10 seconds into any race and I lose all my starting advantage. So that is something I really, really need to work on. I just need to get my corners right :( I’ve been experimenting for way too long without finding my sweet spot.
Next week I’m going to try a different style of crossovers which the coach talked me through today. Hopefully we’ll find something there. This will be my last skate in Perth before I head to Abu Dhabi for my conference.
This week my goal is to catch up on all the off ice I missed out on last week + get back on track with bulking up. Eating the moment I feel hungry so I constantly get food in my body. There is an overkill of bananas in the house at the moment so I know just what to snack on.
